Mask Studio ("the app") is developed by Denis Goloborodko ("we", "us"). This policy describes what data the app collects, how it is used, and your choices.
Mask Studio is designed with privacy in mind. The app processes your camera feed entirely on-device for AR face tracking. We do not collect personal information, do not require user accounts, and do not use analytics or advertising. The only data transmitted from your device is crash reports (to help us fix bugs) and GIF search queries (when you use the GIF search feature, powered by KLIPY).
The app uses your front-facing (TrueDepth) camera for real-time AR face tracking. The camera feed is processed entirely on-device by Apple's ARKit framework. It is never recorded, stored, or transmitted to any server.
When you choose to record a video, the microphone is accessed to capture audio for that video. Audio is embedded in the video file stored locally on your device and is not transmitted anywhere.
Photos and videos you take within the app are stored locally on your device. If you choose to save them to your Photo Library, you will be prompted for permission. We never access your Photo Library without your explicit action.
We use Firebase Crashlytics by Google to collect crash reports when the app encounters an error. This helps us identify and fix bugs. Crashlytics automatically collects:
Crashlytics does not collect personal information such as your name, email, or location. See Firebase Privacy for details.
When you search for or select GIFs using the built-in GIF picker, your search queries are sent to KLIPY's servers. Selected GIF URLs are cached locally on your device. We do not control what data KLIPY collects. See KLIPY's Privacy Policy.
Your preferences (mask positions, material settings, calibration data, onboarding state) are stored locally on your device. This data is never transmitted to any server.

We do not store any user data on our servers. Crash reports are retained by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days. Locally stored settings remain on your device until you delete the app or reset settings within the app.
Mask Studio does not knowingly collect personal information from any user, including children. Since no personal data is collected, no special provisions are needed.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
